Alex had a brief spell at Docklands in the 1999/00 season before joining Sheffield in exchange for Martin Blake. After two seasons playing abroad in Sweden and Austria he returned to Docklands in January 2006 after recovering from a long-term injury. He did return to a Docklands side for the 2003 Whitefield tournament, contributing to Docklands' first ever win in Bath. However, in 2004 he decided to play for Sheffield at Whitefield - he must have regretted this decision when Docklands beat Sheffield in the semi-final on the way to retaining their crown. Alex is an established England player and has 64 senior England caps. In August 2006 he was capped for Great Britain and is now part of the full time GB programme.
